Black Place: By Michael Namingha
This image is from a place in northern New Mexico adjacent to Yupkoyvi (Chaco Canyon) an ancient site sacred to the Puebloan and Hopi people. This image was taken using a drone which provided an opportunity to explore a perspective not usually found. The land takes on an otherworldly depiction.
Michael Namingha is a visual artist and photographer. He is a descendant of the Hopi (Arizona) and Tewa (New Mexico) tribes and currently resides in Santa Fe, NM.
